Great party!
Our annual summer party was a success (no surprise there; who doesn't like a good party). Several folks have asked about the hounds who attended. Russ brought Jingle and Joker, born in June, sired by our Outlaw and out of Middletown Valley's Bluebell; Outlaw himself with NT Uxbridge attended; Yenta, Yuengling, and Yoyo from NT's 2015 litter, and Old Chatham Myers, whelped early spring 2016. They played on the lawn with guests until they had enough of the hot afternoon. Visit Joanne Maisano's website to see her photos: http://www.joannemaisano.com/Nantucket-Treweryn-Beagles
Everyone enjoyed Mr. Eric Buckland's short but fascinating talk on the 1864 event that occurred a few fields away (a cannon ball's throw from the kennels area), the Berryville Wagon Train Raid. We hope to share an occasion with Eric again in the future, and learn about the hallowed ground over which we are privileged to hunt (foxhunters, too). Folks have also asked about the superb wine offered at the party. We are fortunate have Locke Store nearby, our primary source of outstanding wine (outstanding everything, actually). Based on Juliet's recommendations, we offered six wines. The Kloof Street Old Vine Chenin Blanc (2015) from South Africa seemed to be the favorite, judging by requests for more and for the source. The cheeses also received rave reviews, especially the Organic Bleu d'Avergne and Espresso Bella Vitano Santori Reserve. You won't have to hunt far and wide for those - we'll serve both again at our after-beagling tailgates! They are available at Wegman's.
At the next party, we will be sure increase the quantity for dinner to cover second helpings! It was a wonderful evening and we are grateful to those who attended and supported it.
